I have had a backrest on all my motorcycles and this one has helped for comfort and less fatigue. The company was quick to ship and very informative with an issue for the shipment. Their customer service is top notch. This is the first backrest I have had that folds down and it sometimes does it when I am putting my feet to stop and that is why I gave it a 4 instead of a 5. It is the design and I understand the need to fold if you ride 2 up. Get it as it is needed!

The bolt that the backrest pivots on has a locking nut. Often a customer will think that the bolt is as tight as it will go and it actually tighten to the point that the backrest will stay in place. The backrest is fine as far as fit and comfort but the color should be more of a charcoal instead of bright black.

I had a Utopia backrest on my 2008 Goldwing so when I bought my 2014 Victory Cross Country Tour, I was thrilled to see that Utopia made a backrest for it. I ordered one and when I got it, it took about 20 minutes to install. The mounting bracket is very sturdy and the backrest itself is extremely comfortable.
The bracket that comes up through the strap slot, could be a little taller so the nut and bolt mechanism aren’t pressed into the seat.
The backrest arrived in just a couple of days,which really surprised me (in a good way ) The backrest itself is awesome,very comfortable, very adjustable for any position you want,can't comment on installation, I had a cycle shop do it, you need an air stapler and previous experience in reinstalling vinyl on a seat would be very beneficial. Highly recommend !
Not that difficult to install. Very comfortable. I still have some forward backwards tweaking to do. I've only ridden about 25km but seems to be what I wanted.
Just what my R18 Transcontinental needed for a comfortable ride. My back would start to hurt shortly after beginning a ride. After installing and adjusting the backrest, I can now ride without pain. I didn't actually get this item, I needed the T-Nuts for mounting the bracket to the seat. I called about getting new parts, and was told to order this item for about $6.00 and they would send the T-Nuts, that are not listed on the web site, in that package. Got all new nuts and bolts in the mail the following week, had the backrest mounted in about 10 minutes and got the seat mounted so I could ride. A simple phone call and they took care of everything, instead of me spending hours online looking for them. Great customer service and a great product!
My standard bike rest was too large, causing interference when I put a piece of luggage in the backseat. I’m out of the new smaller Back rest, it appears to have cured the problem.
I’ve been out of town for the a couple of weeks. Just opened the box. Will install tomorrow. Looks like the seat doesn’t need to be taken off.

The setback is about 1.25 inches, the backrest itself doesn’t seem to go back that far. It’s nice now that it sits back slightly more and I still have plenty of adjustment remaining backwards and forwards. You maybe able to see in the pictures it’s just a slight difference backwards. Small difference, big impact.
Good product. Good quality materials. Instructions could be better. Need explain that you need to pry up on the seat pan to slip the mounting bracket in. Can’t get it by hand.
It is great when a product is designed to fit a specific install and this is for sure. The install really is a few screws and it is ready to ride. I definitely enjoy it on rides over 30 minutes for a little relief on my back. I would love it even more if it had a quick disconnect to remove on really hot days or short rides.
